Welcome to the Threshold

Beyond THAT Day

Before we begin

What should we call you here? Just a first name is enough.

Welcome to the Threshold

You're here because something in your life split into before and after. Maybe you know exactly what that day was. Maybe you only know that something changed, and you've been living in the after ever since.

We call it THAT day. Not to be dramatic. It doesn't need a name. It just needs to be felt.

This isn't therapy. We're not going to talk about what happened. We're going to find the feeling of it. Feelings speak in images, not sentences. So we're going to start there.

First — the feeling

The mood board

Go find five to ten images that feel like THAT day. Not what it looked like. What it felt like. Colors. Textures. Empty rooms. Weather. Anything that makes your chest tighten, or your stomach drop, or your throat close, even a little.

Don't overthink it. Don't curate it. Just collect what your body recognizes.

Now — the facts

Facts only

Tell us what THAT day was. But only the facts. No feelings. No story. No "and then I realized." Just what happened, when, and who was there. The plain version.

March 14th. The hospital. 6am. The doctor came in and said the word.

Now — the word

Find the word

Look back at your images. Read your facts. Now find the one word that makes something move in your body. Not the right word. The one that lands.

Tight. Hollow. Frozen. Loud. Heavy. Invisible. Anything.

Now — the song

Choose one song

The one that holds . Not the song you'd play for someone else. The one your body already knows.

Play it once, all the way through. Don't do anything else. Don't analyze it. Just let it land.

Now that it's landed

What did you notice?

What did it make you feel? Where did you feel it? What did you notice that you didn't expect?

Sit with this one

What did this feeling want you to know that you couldn't have known then?

Sit with this one

What did you have to become to get through it, and is that who you actually are?

One more

If this feeling could speak to you now, what would it say you've been forgetting?

Your Threshold

THAT day

The word

The song

What the feeling was trying to tell you

What you're remembering

Remember who you are.

This was one movement of the Threshold. There are more.
